Permanent TSB Group Holdings plc is listed on the Main Securities Market of Euronext Dublin and the London Stock Exchange. It is the holding company for Permanent TSB plc which is a Credit Institution licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.
In 2011, Permanent TSB Group Holdings plc received significant support from the Irish State in the context of the financial crisis because of its systemic importance to the Irish Financial system. As a result of these State support measures, the Minister for Finance of Ireland then became the owner of 99.2% of the issued ordinary shares of the Company. In April 2015, this interest reduced to 74.92% following the successful completion of a €400m equity capital raise, an open offer take up for €2m and through the sale by the Minister for Finance of 21.8 million shares. In 2022, the interest of the Minister for Finance reduced to 62.44% following the issue of 90,893,627 (16.66% of the total issued share capital of the Company) to RBS AA Holdings (UK) ltd (a subsidiary of Natwest Group plc) in connection with the acquisition by the Company of elements of the Ulster Bank retail and SME business in Ireland. In June 2023, the Minister for Finance and Natwest Group plc each sold 27,279,456 shares and this was followed on the 15 July 2025 by a complete disposal of Natwest’s remaining 63,614,171 shares.
